Softball is die female variant of baseball. Most of the rules are the same. The difference is the size of the ball. The Softball is bigger (30,16 to 30,80 centimeteres/Men 22,86 centimetres) and heavier (177,20 to 198,4 gramm). It consists nowadays of Kapok (cotton wool-like natural fiber). The Pitcher`s Mound lies only 12,20 metres from the Home Plate (Men 14,03 metres). The ball is gepitched from underneath the hip. (Baseball: from the top) Every team has 9 players. In Canada I played for PSA Thunder and won the Team Award for the "Most Improved Player".
